Thank YOU to ALL our Volunteers!

Volunteer, Gain Valuable Experience and Strengthen Your CV:
Volunteering at Tralee CoderDojo (TCDJ) is a very rewarding experience and might not require as much as you think. Recruiting volunteers to mentor our Dojo ninjas is essential to the success of a Dojo. The TCDJ club operates from the fantastic five star and modern facilities at Tralee ITT North Campus.

ITT1TCDJ is constantly on the lookout for new volunteers to help out presenting material to our TCDJ Ninjas and guiding them as they explore different technologies. You get an opportunity to help the children and students in our community to learn how to code and you get an opportunity to learn new skills and technologies also.

There are enormous benefits for students who volunteer and present material to the children during our TCDJ sessions at ITT Tralee. Along with enhancing your presentation skills, volunteers get the opportunity to access and establish a broader working and industry network through the ITT at Tralee and also volunteers enhance their CV through the additional accreditation of including their fantastic voluntary work at TCDJ. We have various well established Business People who interact, visit and speak at TCDJ from time to time. Students and volunteers can certainly strengthen their CV offering in this manner.

Whether you are a pro at Python, can write HTML blindfolded or love tinkering with hardware like Raspberry Pi or Lego Mindstorms, your knowledge, experience and assistance would be very welcome at Tralee CoderDojo!

I put CoderDoJo on my CV. There is no doubt that this had a positive impact.
Presently, at JRI America, I now use those presentation skills that I practiced and learned at TCDJ.
The skills required are the same!  Prepare and Present and Practice, Practice..
TCDJ thought me how to excel in those skills ! ''

‘’Tralee CoderDojo was a great experience for me in helping me debug through errors for my own personal problem solving. Also the kid's creativity with HTML5 really inspired my web design/creativity skills! I would suggest any Computing Student to try Coderdojo at least once as it's great for your own technical skills development as well as a great talking point for interviews. It's also very enjoyable and rewarding personally......and appreciation from both kids and parents alike really make you feel appreciated and useful for volunteering your time.’’
